14- Fever of Unknown Origin

1°- Ciprofloxacin 500mg 1tab 3x/day (if not available ofloxacin 400mg 1tab 2x/day).  If improves, continue for 2-3 weeks (salmonella bacteriemia is common cause of such fever)

2°- Ciprofloxacin is not effective?  Anti-TB drugs for 15 days (see "31-TB").

3°- Anti-TB drugs not active?  Symptomatic (Paracetamol, cool packs, ventilator…) until a cause of the fever is found.
