Bxx057 Severe penicilliosis (involving the whole body including palate, lips and skin) after a ampho treatment (6doses).

The patient was treated with itraconazole for 5 months before being admit in our ward. Our experience tells us that such a patient needs amphotericin. We refered him to another hospital which gave ampho...

If ampho is not available the only thing we can do is to give fluconazole(less active again penicillium) or fluconazole+ itraconazole... Usually there is no cross resistance between the 2 drugs.
